When my Angel was born she was a lovely, traditional baby girl. She had ten fingers, and 10 toes.

A nurse at the Health Department commented that her head circumference had not grown much she was regarding 6 months previous at the time. She looked serious however passed it off as a clerical error. When Angel was ten months recent it was noted that her head was not growing at a traditional rate. At our next doctor visit, I questioned him regarding her head growth rate and told him what the nurses had said. He said not to stress, nothing was wrong.

I started feeling uneasy and turned within myself for strength, motivation and support. I prayed and did deep respiratory exercises to stay my center of control so that I may higher care for my baby. I had an inner feeling that I would wish this grounding, however I had nothing to base it on.

I had no clue that this innocent seeming symptom was a marker of Rett syndrome that falls underneath the Autism Spectrum Disorder classification. She was not diagnosed at this time as a result of there have been alternative criteria on which this diagnosis is made. There were still issues concerning her head size. On the fourth day her core temperature was virtually normal. Her head was abundant hotter than her body, I was fearful regarding brain harm and regarding her life. Angel's doctor failed to tell me that she might have this Syndrome, however I saw it written on her chart. I had no idea what it meant, and how it might alter her life.

It perceived to me that she was losing skills which she had before this fever struck.. She was unable to walk, and her speech had deteriorated to the point that it had been virtually nonexistent.
