threads are floated to the top. This causes the fibers to reflect light, which is the signature satin sheen. Satin can be manufactured from a variety of fabrics, including silk, nylon, rayon, and acetate. However, the fabric cannot readily absorb moisture as it has a tight weave. So, it becomes uncomfortable to use during summers. This fabric is generally used for special occasion as its sensuality is accentuated under the glow of candlelight.
