Asthma is the disorder that causes airway of the lung to swallow and become narrow that leads to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing. Asthma is caused due to the inflammation in the airways. When an asthma bout up, the muscles surrounding the airways become tight and lining of the air passages swells. Consequently, the amount of air that passes by reduces itself. Some of the common symptoms include cough with or without sputum, pulling in of the skin between the ribs when breathing, shortness of breath that gets worse with exercise or any physical activity. The treatment of asthma depends upon the condition of the patient.
