Avoid Making These Mistakes If You Want to Get Your Ex Back
You want to get your ex back. But do you know that the first three days after a break up are usually the most critical? That's when people do the maximum damage. That is, they fall into typical post break up behavior patterns that mess things up, sometimes irreparably. If you're keen to get your ex back into your life, avoid these classical post break up mistakes:
1. Try not to convince yourself and your ex that you've changed, so he/she should give it another shot. Just don't go down this road. It's a road that leads to nowhere, you will not get your ex back by doing it. Everyone knows that no one can change overnight!
2. Don't get overemotional and declare your undying love for your ex. It sounds desperate. And it's not about what you are feeling, it's about what your ex is feeling. If that means he/she wants to break up, your declaration of love isn't going to change a thing.
3. Do not beg your ex to stay back! This is a sure shot way to lose your ex as well as any respect he/she has for you. It's as good as committing emotional hara-kiri!
4. Never alienate or aggravate your ex by trying to blackmail him/her emotionally. This can easily lead to resentment from your ex's side for the guilt trip you put him/her through.
5. Abusing or accusing your ex is also a complete no-no. It will only mess things up between the two of you even more. In case you're too angry and don't trust yourself, try staying away from your ex until you can trust yourself in front of him/her.
6. Don't indulge in bribery! Yes, shopping for your ex and lavishing him/her with expensive gifts is nothing short of bribing! And it doesn't work. Even if your ex accepts the gifts, he/she will know what you're up to do and that doesn't show you in too good a light.
7. Don't get all logical and analytical with your ex. We're not talking about rationality here, we're talking about emotions. So, no amount of reasoning is going to help in getting your ex back.
8. Try not to feel sorry for yourself and expect your ex to do the same. There's nothing more pitiful than someone desperately trying to get attention. Even if you do manage to soften your ex up, it's not going to bring him/her back.
9. Any kind of pressure you put on your ex at this stage will work against you. You can't force your way back into someone's life, so why try?
10. Don't call your ex's friends or family members in the hope that they will intervene on your behalf. Even if do, what will your ex think of you? He/she might get angry, put off or both! And that's not what you want, is it? Let's say, for some reason your ex does listen to his family or friends, how long will he/she stay back because of them? You will not get your ex back by doing it.
If you've already made some of these mistakes, don't make anymore! Remember, these are typical responses that 'seem natural' after you split, but if continued, they'll only mess things up further. It is not the best approach is you want to get your ex back.
