Avoid Public Embarrassment: Mobile Phone Tips You Need To Follow
You mobile phone is a precious gem in your daily life
, but precious gem as it may seem it can be a hell lot of a distraction and can even offend people. Sometimes, we often forget to be polite in public, with our mobile phones in tow, we sometimes get obnoxious in public with our phones. Having that much needed etiquette- or plainly, simple common sense is the best thing to avoid embarrassment.
One time at the mall, I was waiting on for some friends and this guy with an earphone literally made me jump- because he was yelling. Yes, while yelling on the phone, he saw a friend and then shouted, I really mean shouted like at the top of his lungs. Maybe the phone audio is way too loud. It was totally annoying, his friend told him to remove his earphones and oh-boy, he got a taste of the disgusted looks people shot him. This must be totally embarrassing for the friend, and for that crazy guy. People like that are really annoying and disrespectful, it's as if they own the whole place. Don't let a similar embarrassing scenario happen to you.
1. Your ringtone says a lot about you, so do you have a: rocker ringtone, gamer, nerdy, drama queen, tv addict ringtone? Or do you often have your phone on silent, vibrate or the most short ringtone on the list? Can you live with that type of ringtone? Or is it time to change it? If you get embarrassed by your ringtone, or feel that it doesn't suit you then change it. Take note on your location and if your phone is on loud mode or that your phone volume is rather louder than necessary then turn it down to a more acceptable level.
2. Monitor the volume on your mobile phone. Monitor your phone volume and turn down the speaker or volume, maybe it's blaring. Whenever you see people turn towards your direction then maybe your ringtone is way too loud.
3. Ensure that when you do converse on your mobile phone that it does not disturb other people. Respect those around you, save the intimate relations talk for later. Sometimes when you get to talk about a subject matter and get carried away in a topic which may seem inappropriate to be talked about in public. So respect people around you and your own privacy. It's best to avoid using foul language, or have rows and arguments, talks about money and debt, sex or any other inappropriate topics in-front of others.
4. Don't use your phone when in "quiet zones" on the trains, on the plane, in the library, in offices, at schools, hospitals, etc. Even then if you are in an area where the phone is not acceptable then take note that your voice can distract the people in that area. Quite embarrassing if you should have me, hearing your voice echo in the place. Now if the reception is not good and you can't hear clearly, then wait for a location in which you can find a good reception; if not then finish the call, explain then hang-up. Avoid shouting because that will not help.
5. When you are in a social situation, then remember that the people around you are more important than the one on your phone. Then avoid often looking at it, or constantly check for calls or messages. When someones is conversing with you then isn't it rather annoying and insulting if you keep glancing at your phone. It's best that you turn your phone off, or put in vibrate or just leave it.
Avoid being embarrassed and being awkward in in different situations due to your mobile phone. Now remember these tips when you are out socialising or in an event or a location where a mobile phone is uncalled for.
