There are some very common Internet marketing mistakes that are circulating around the net and becoming more frequent. Of course it's always up to you, but you should consider organic search traffic because it's free and highly targeted. The net is so full of strange traffic generation strategies, and all those people could get actual results if they concentrated on optimization. You should never ignore the search engines because they send you free, targeted traffic that actually converts into sales. As you know, this will require work and consistent effort to achieve. It's not as simple as just getting listed in a search engine because there's the matter of getting good backlinks, etc. You have to work on your offpage SEO, backlinking, and the onpage SEO which are your nav structure and keywords, etc. You need to create a proper plan that will help you boost your site's ranking in the search engines. Once you get a hang of it and know how to rank pages for various keywords, you can simply duplicate your efforts in your other Internet marketing ventures. Search engines like Google receive millions of visitors per day, and you can capture some of that traffic. You want to target those keyword phrases with reasonable traffic volume, but they're not as competitive as the insanely high traffic volume phrases. All you do is take your favorite research software and start looking in your market. Having bad sales copy that isn't specifically directed to your target market is another big mistake. Good internet marketing is about finding ways to increase your sales wherever possible. If you're serious about your business, work on ways to create strong sales copy. The reason many Internet marketers fail to get results is not because they chose the wrong product or market, but they failed to write a good copy. When you learn how to harness the power of your words to persuade your visitors to buy, things get much easier. It's possible to use several different approaches when you're writing good copy. Choose a simple formula to follow when you write your copy, such as AIDA, which stands for attention, interest, desire and action. It's also important to create copy that really highlights the benefits of the product and not the features. If you're not able to create a sales copy, then outsource it to a good copywriter but don't ignore it. Avoid fallng for the complete trap that you can create wealth without effort and do so in a week, or two. That is a destructive way to think about business or approach it. If it was that simple, then there would simply be many more successful IM'ers running around. Many Internet marketing gurus are responsible for spreading this mindset and making people believe there is no hard work at all, when in fact, you have to put in your efforts day and night to see results. Now your IM education is a little further along, and you can hopefully prepare well to avoid such mistakes and others. It's not terribly difficult to succeed to some degree in IM, but you need to always keep learning and try to avoid the silly mistakes.
