For me personally, I have been in five different accidents and all of them could have been avoided if I drove more carefully. When it comes to being safe on the road, here are some tips you can consider to help keep you safe.

One of the most important things when it comes to being a safe driver is to abide by the laws. The main one that you will want to follow is the speed limit. I'm sure you have noticed others who don't do this and are the ones that sometimes get into an accident. No matter how much of a rush you may be in, you need to follow the speed limit as the faster you go the harder it is to control your car and this could lead to a potential accident. Another tip to make sure that you are a safe driver is to make sure you are not distracted while you are driving. You need 100% of your at tention on the road as one second of not paying attention can lead to an accident. Some of the major types of distractions while driving can be texting, eating, changing the radio station or many other types of distractions. A third tip to help make sure that you are a safe driver is to make sure you don't drive in the bicycle lanes. I've noticed more and more people doing this but they shouldn't as the lane are made for bikes. You should avoid driving in these lanes as there may be a bike in it and since they are sometimes hard to see in your mirrors, you could potentially hit a rider. A final tip for being a safe driver is to not tail the person in front of you. You should give at least two car lengths just in case they stop suddenly you have enough time to brake and not hit them.
