Avoiding Gallbladder Surgery - Here Are 3 Methods That May Give You Success
A lot of people will have problems with their gallbladder at some point in their lives. It is often caused by gallstones forming in the gallbladder and blocking the bile duct, causing inflammation and pain. Sometimes these stones can pass by themselves, but the medical profession generally recommends that you have gallbladder surgery to have your gallstones and your gallbladder removed.
However unless you are in a lot of pain, you shouldn't necessarily rush into having surgery because there are a few other things you can try if you want to avoid having gallbladder surgery.
First of all you can try changing your diet. You want to start by reducing your intake of fatty foods and eating plenty of fibre to see if this helps your problem. Furthermore you should avoid all foods high in cholesterol because many stones are themselves made of cholesterol, so this will just exacerbate your problem.
Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables may help you to dissolve your stones slightly so they are able to pass. Some of the best foods that are said to be good for this are apples (and apple juice) and radishes, as well as fruits rich in vitamin C because they help convert cholesterol to bile.
Secondly you could try flushing the gallstones out of your system using water. I'm not terribly convinced that this could be successful because it didn't work for me, but there are some people on a few of the health forums that have had some success using this method.
The third and final method you can use to try and eliminate your gallstones is to flush them out using the much talked about liver and gallbladder flush. This was created many years ago now and it basically involves taking a concoction of epsom salts, lemon juice and olive oil on the day of the flush, and taking lots of apple juice on the days leading up to the flush.
There is a lot of debate about whether this method actually works or not. Some medical experts claim that it does expel objects that look like stones, but they may not necessarily be gallstones. However a lot of people claim to have successfully removed their stones this way, particularly after going through multiple flushes over a period of several months.
Whatever you decide to do, it is always best to talk things through with your doctor. It may well be the case that your gallstones are far too big to be flushed out, and it may even be dangerous to attempt to do so. In which case surgery may be the only option. However the goal of this article was simply to talk about a few of the alternative ways you can deal with your gallbladder problem (after getting approval from your doctor).
