There are many triggering factors of panic and anxiety disorder. Heredity is the first cause that is usually evident. Anxiety disorder may be passed through genes and run in the family. But this is not the only triggering factor. The environment of the person and the principles established within him is relevant. There are also biological aspects that which cause anxiety of the person. Other disorders lead to anxiety disorder. Hypoglycemia, hyperthyroidism, mitral valve prolapse and obsessive compulsive disorder are only few of the disorders that may cause anxiety disorder.

Phobias may also be the cause for anxiety disorder. Fearing too much and experiencing intense phobic situation may trigger anxiety disorder. Moreover, life trials and problems such as personal loss- like loss of a relative and some other life changing situations and transitions may also trigger anxiety disorder like stimulants (e.g. caffeine and nicotine).

Withdrawal from alcohol, drugs and the like may also be considered as a triggering effect of panic attack. The withdrawal syndrome is the process for which the tranquilizing properties of these substances rebound and cause a negative effect to the body. Stimulants and depressants alike can actually cause anxiety and panic attack.

Medications may also cause panic attacks. Panic attack in this field is only a side-effect of some medications. The gravity of the effect of the attack would depend on the body's capability to cope up with the medication that it is taking. Some may experience it just at the start of the medication but others may experience it all throughout the whole medication period.

Intense situations may also trigger anxiety disorder. Feeling like things are not going to according to what you want may develop stress and frustration. Too much of this two may end up developing into anxiety disorder.

Take note of these triggering factors. Be aware of them and to avoid this disorder, change your lifestyle if possible. Because in the end just like the cliche tells us, prevention is better than cure.
