Awaken to God
We can be blessed if we want to be! Our blessings and prosperity are in direct proportion to our obedience to God
. Some may not like this concept because of the accountability it carries, but God tells us IF we keep all His commandments that His blessings will come on us and overtake us, but IF we do not keep His commandments that we will be overtaken by the things of the curse. (Deut. 28:1,2,15)
A study of our history shows that America has a rich spiritual heritage, which includes a strong acknowledgment of God in every arena of life because it was, "In God We Trust". According to a 12/09 Gallup Poll, America is still predominantly a Christian nation (8 out of 10 Americans identify with a Christian religion), but we are increasingly becoming more of a secular society, increasingly losing our trust in and dependence on God. With what result?
If we be uncomfortably honest, we can see that the further we come away from biblical principles the more we suffer a moral and financial breakdown in our society; we're coming further away from the prosperity and freedoms that America once enjoyed. At present, our nation is bound by a spirit of fear called the "economic crisis" despite the promise of God that He has given us the power to get wealth and that fear is of the curse - a spirit that God has not given to us. (Deut. 8:18; Deut. 28:65,66; 2 Tim. 1:7)
As Chrisitans, and the majority of America's population, we must remember that there is still a Devil loose who is busy tricking and deceiving mankind into lightly esteeming the Word of God, sinning and thereby allowing him access to work his will in the earth. We must awaken to our God-given power and who we are in this spiritual war, that we wake up to every day, between God and the Devil in their battle for souls.
The same as with Adam and Eve, God has given us, His children, instruction from His Word which serves as our protection from the tricks and attacks of the Enemy, Satan the Devil. But we must learn to see theinstruction as protection from and ammunition against the Devil, and not as bondage from being able to live life the way we think is best.Let's remember that every time the nation of Israel went into sin (disobeyed or failed to acknowledge God) they went into bondage - it wasn't the other way around.
We must realize that every day we have to choose, like Adam and Eve, if we are going to eat from the tree of life (the Word of God) or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (which we can see today has manifested as secularism and humanism). The same as with Adam and Eve, if we choose not to obey God we suffer the consequences. God didn't allow Adam and Eve to sin and then decide what judgment to execute. The judgment was already written in with the sin the same as judgment is alreadywritten infor obedience, and that same principle applies in our day.
Soagain, who has the power to determine whether blessings or curses are unleashedin ourlives and on our earth? We do, as men and women of God who have been given dominion over all the earth! (Gen. 1:26; Deut. 30:19) We must become apeople empowered knowing that we are created in the image and likeness of God and that the earth is ours under the authority of Almighty God. (Psalm 115:16)
Let's realizehow extremely powerful and valuable we are toGod(and the Devil)...The earth and everything in it, including you and me, belongs to God andwas created for His pleasure, but God has given ownership of the earth to man. (Psalm 24:1; Rev. 4:11) The Devil desires to be like God and was kicked out of heaven for that reason, and nowhe wants ownership of our earth. Although Adam gave ownership to the Devil when he sinned, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (the Last Adam) took ownership back and gave it back to us through Him! We must see that both God and the Devil need our consent and bodies in order tolegally carry out their willin the earth. God cannot get involved in the affairs of our earth without our consent, this is why prayeris such a powerful weapon for the Christian - God is waiting to hear what we have to say.
We have such a rich spiritualinheritance through Jesus to explore together, but for now let's bestirred to repent and rise up as the Body of Christ. AsChristians we are to follow the example Jesus set when He was on the earth andpresent God again on thisearth! It's our uncompromising return to God as individuals and a nation that will bring healing and blessing to our land. As we soften our hearts and awaken to God we will see His hand at work in our world to manifest true change that only His government will bring. (2 Chronicles 7:14; Zech. 1:3; Matt. 6:10)
We have the awesome assignment to keep the blessing of God in the earth and as heirs of Abraham's Seed, we share the same covenant promise to be blessed so that we can be a blessing to all families of the earth. (Gen. 12:3; Gal. 3:29) The scriptures tell us that the whole earth is groaning in expectation of the manifestation of the sons of God.(Rom. 8:19,22; John 1:12) The world is looking for us! Jesus said that we would do the works He did and greater, but we must first see and operate the way God does according to His Word. The Word of God must be our first response and final authority! These are prophetic and exciting times for us. (Luke 21:28) It's time to truly know who God says we are, what God says we really have and what God says we can really do AND do it!
