The most unique detail about this saree to be considered as a true work of art is that they take around fifteen to thirty days to finish. The softness combined with the gold embroidery makes the banaras one of the most in demand saree material in the world.

What the banaras represents is something more than royalty. It represents Indian's attachment to tradition. Well worked pallus along with borders with a wide variety of gold thread working are trademarks of the banaras silk too.
