The soul of a rich person is different from the soul of a poor person. That is why we have the word self-image'. Self image is the inner picture you have of yourself. From self image we have "self-esteem", which is how you feel about yourself. Then we have "self-respect" which describes how you treat yourself.

From self-esteem comes "self-worth". Worth is value what do you think you are worth? That is a big question, and it is derived from the picture you have of yourself. Your self-worth brings you self respect.

There are people who treat themselves with respect. Others treat themselves without respect.

They see themselves as common people, as second-class or third-class people because they do not believe they have inherent value. It shows in their appearance and the way they sit, walk and talk. Your self-image will always control your behaviour. You will never attempt to get anything that you tell the person inside you is not qualified to get.

Many of us use our achievements or non-achievements to define our level of success.

That is a big mistake. You wrote an examination and failed, that is no reason to conclude that you are a failure. That is the biggest lie of the devil. Before the examiner was born it was already designed into your destiny that you should be a success. And the day the nature of God came inside you, you became a success. Natural parameters are too poor to measure who you are.

Stop trying to identify yourself by the things that have happened to you or by what you have. It is wrong to think that if you do not have money you are poor.

Do not build your self-esteem on material things on this earth, the raw materials with which God builds is His word (or His idea).

Whatever He calls a person or anything is what that person or thing becomes.

The big question however is, will you believe it? And this is the victory that has overcome the world. Our faith. What you believe is what you become. More importantly, you are not what people say you are, because when your destiny was planned others were not there.

Unfortunately, some words certain people spoke to us have been lodged deep in our hearts and we have unwisely allowed those words to control our lives.

Do not use lack of educational qualification to determine your value.

Do not even use poor appearance, because we tend to feel inferior in the presence of some one who has better clothes than we do, or who has achieved something more than we have. On your inside you have as much as they have; only that you are in the process at converting your success to its material equivalent.
