BMW 520d Saloon's Indian Launch

BMW (Bavarian Motor Works), the German leader in automobile manufacturing recently launched its BMW 250d premium sedan in India. This is the fifth engine variant that joined the F-10 5-series line up of the company. This New Cars model by BMW is powered with 1995 cc 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine. The car is also equipped with 8 speed automatic transmission and has a maximum power of 184 bhp at 4000 rpm which is similar to that of the 3-series saloon and maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1750 rpm. Standard changes have been made so that this 5-series combo will have a stylish look among the changes is the 255.55 R 17 tyres. The paddle shift mechanism that will not be present in the BMW 520d not like the other 5-series model. A single Mp3 CD audio player will also replace the in-dash 6 CD charger music system. Features that are retained are the cosmetic features like sunroof and others, which are present in other models in the 5-series. The all new BMW 520d may also be noted as the corporate edition in the 5-series category like the BMW 320d corporate. As per the ex-showroom Delhi, the car is priced at Rs. 36, 90, 000 which will be 3 lakhs rupees cheaper than that of the BMW 525d variant. The company also claims that this car can reach up to 100 km in just 8.4 seconds. The 5 seater sedan has a wheelbase that measures 2888 mm and a boot space of 520 liters. The Kerb weight of the BMW 520d is 1520 kg. There are a variety of exciting features that would come with this new car model such as the Halogen or Xenon lights, navigation system and cruise control among the advanced features and of course standard safety features that will include ABS, EBD, stability control, traction control and brake assist. BMW India is a subsidiary of the German automobile company and has headquarters and manufacturing facility at Chennai. As of now, the facility manufactures the BMW 3 series, BMW X1 and BMW 5-series. The company has 12 outlets spread across the country and plans to increase the figures to 22 in the near future. The company also plans on mounting up their production scale because of the rising demands.
