BMW's Sports Activity Vehicle X1 As Entry-Level Car
December is going to set an exciting month for BMW X1 in India as it is set to introduce the sports activity vehicle x1 as their entry-level model sold for less than Rs 25 lakh. According to Andreas Schaaf, the president of BMW in India, they now have the entry-level vehivle under the 3 series corporate edition and would soon be available for the stated price. The car maker is looking forward to attracting new clients with a lifestyle product that suits the "flexible, unique and modern" tag aside from the strategic pricing being employed for the car. Schaaf said that the company sees very great potential in the Indian market since it has been growing phenomenally. They see that it would only just be a matter of time when they would expand from servicing just about 0.5 percent of the population to a larger segment. They see that in India, it is not just the influential and rich that are able to purchase cars but also he sees that the younger people who have good jobs, high incomes and access to financial tools have that purchasing power as well. This is what the company wishes to address with the newX1 car. Of the three German premium car makers, BMW and Audi are the ones that started with the completely knocked down assembly of its SUVs. The Audi assembling of Q5 at its Aurangabad facility since June and with BMW that puts together the 1 at the Chennai plant, many people see a tight competition in this market segment. To conform with environment minister Jairam Ramesh's concern about the high carbon emissions of SUVs, the company assures that they use the right technology to take care of the environment. The BMW has officially entered the car market. It is the famous manufacturer of the Rolls-Royce cars. BMW India was set up as a sales subsidiary in Gurgaon way back in 2006.
