Back Tattoo Designs

When it comes to back tattoo designs, people have used basically every imaginable pattern or shape

, starting with butterflies, birds and ending with wolves. When worn by females, back tattoo designs are generally used to emphasize the feminine curves and sexuality through their strategic placing on the lower side of the back or throughout the cervical line of the back.

The lower back tattoo designs are generally referred to as "tramp stamps", since they used to show a level of promiscuity of the girl who possessed it. All that has changed in the recent years. There is not that much emphasis put on the meaning behind them, being regarded as merely a way of embellishing the human body. Nowadays they have become increasingly popular among young women, being regarded especially as a sign of rebellion from teenagers.

Back tattoo designs come in very different styles. They range from extremely simplistic lines and colors to very meticulous and symbolic shapes. Back tattoo designs are used particularly to point out the particularly thin lines of the back in a unique manner. Women who opt for such a tattoo usually go for small designs in the detriment of the large ones, as they are considered to be more attractive and mysterious.

Men, however, chose to have a tattoo done in the back area because it offers a lot of space for a large design and working horizontally is much easier in this respect. Although, there is one thing that must be mentioned and that is that a back tattoo is said to be much more painful than one that is done in any other body part. Another reason for which people tend to opt for this region is because, as opposed to the abdomen, another very popular body location for a tattoo, the back does not stretch very much throughout the duration of life, representing therefore a much better painting "canvas" for the ones performing it.

The most commonly used colors in back tattoo designs are blue, green and purple, although simple black and white ones are also a trend these days.
