It is recommended to not keep all your cash and cards at one place rather split it into various bags. But dont forget to carry contact details of your insurance company along with you and contact them immediately after the incident. Before buying an insurance make sure that it matched with your travelling type.

Travel cautiously, beware you can be caught for crime falsely, or can be put into jail or worst can be put to death. This does happen in some countries. So thing and review twice or thrice before you choose any destination for you backpacking fun.
