Bad Weather Popcorn Crafts

On days when the weather is bad, children can get rather bored and unsettled

In fact, because the kernels are more little than beans, they can actually be easier to use. Find some fun fabric scraps and sew them together to form little bags. If you are extra creative, you could even make them into specific shapes, such as cars or critters. However , if you prefer to keep it simple you can just make plain squares, but make sure you leave roughly 2 inches open on just one of the sides. Before you sew the bags, make sure the proper sides of the fabric are facing each other, this way you are able to turn them right side facing out before you put the popcorn in them. Once you have the bags stitched, fill a large container with popcorn kernels. Then allow your youngsters to fill up the baggies with the popcorn . Using a funnel may make this task easier. After you have filled the bag about two thirds of the way, you can sew it closed. You can then organize a few fun games that can be enjoyed indoors, such as a competition to see who can toss the most bean bags in a box or bucket. Or, play a tossing game such as "Hot Potato" with the sacks. Take a few shots of your children playing, since these fun photos are priceless when displayed in picture frames.

Mosaic Works of Art

If you have numerous colors of popcorn, you can create mosaic artwork. Locate a piece of thin cardboard, maybe poster board, and give it to your child. They can draw simple designs on the board as a guide for putting on the popcorn. Spread white glue on every part of the picture. Then stick the popcorn onto the freshly applied glue.
