One of the important events in the botanical garden of Ooty is the flower and fruit show that organized annually.

The mountain train journey from Kallar on a ratchet is very adventurous as well as enjoyable. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) is one of the oldest railways in the country and it can find a place in the UNESCO World Heritage site. The train covers many curves, tunnels and sprawling tea gardens. The unending tea plantations in the city of Ooty are very attractive and the Nilgiri tea is very famous in the market. The Tea and Tourism Festival is organized annually to promote the tourism. Besides the tea plantations, Eucalyptus and Pine trees add beauty to the city of Ooty.

Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka exhibits diverse culture and tradition and the people of this city are very hospitable in nature. Bangalore is also called the 'Garden City' as the city comprises of a lot of gardens and parks. Bangalore is the nerve centre of the IT industry. The city is also called by the Silicon Valley of India. Moreover, this city is home to a lot of educational institutions, central government establishments and scientific and research institutes.


The nearest airport to Ooty is Coimbatore. Cabs are easily available to reach Ooty at a rate of Rs. 2500/- for a trip.
