Recently, Grantley Adams Airport underwent up gradation and expansion. For this project government offered US$100 million. Under this project a new arrival lounge was added to the older arrival and departure terminal.

Connected by intersections of five taxiways, the airport has a single east-west runway. This is the reason, all planes take-off or land in an easterly direction.
