Often times we get tired of making the same old dinners week after week

Also if you purchase foods that you haven't cooked with before, you force yourself to try new things in the kitchen.

Possibly the most important thing you can change about your shopping habits are sauces. If you are able to purchase a new and different sauce each time you go grocery shopping, it can revolutionize your meals and is an easy start. One of the best sauces to start with is surprising, but barbecue sauce. Barbecue sauce can be a good start because it is familiar, but there are many different types and flavors. It can often times be intimidating to cook with new elements, so if you are able to experiment with something you are familiar with it can make it easier to try broader horizons.

Barbecue sauces can be marinades, sauces, condiments, or toppings. Casseroles, burgers, and pastas are all dishes that can be changed very easily from something of the norm from your kitchen to something new and exciting. Recipes that include barbecue sauce can be found all over the internet and grilling cookbooks. A good idea is to use barbecue sauce just as you would use any other sauce.


After barbecue sauce has been experimented with, other sauces can aide in the new cooking venture. After you get comfortable with sauces move onto purchasing tortillas instead of bread and make wraps, or udon noodles instead of regular pasta and make asian inspired dishes. Spreads such as hummus and pesto can go great on salads or wraps and may also be out of the norm for your meals.
