Even armature golfers can follow these tips to see improvement.
Many golfers do not realize that they need a lot of energy to play for long hours and most golfers either do not eat anything or just eat something junk before leaving for the game. To keep you body energized throughout the game, a proper intake of carbohydrates and protein should be consumed. This ensures that you have enough energy in the body and you do not feel dizzy while playing the game. Some of the common intakes are eggs, fruit juice, wheat rich food etc.
You need your body to be relaxed and flexible before playing the game. Many golfers reach few minutes before the tee time and try to hit some shots for warm up which is not doing any good for your body to be relaxed. A correct approach is to do some stretches which will help your muscles to loosen up and your body to be free from any stiffness and you will be able to hit freely with all the energy and flexibility. Things like toe touches, arm circles are some common stretches which can be performed just before the start of play. After these stretches, you should hit some half swing shots which will give you confidence in your swing.
Before heading for the game, try to consume lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Drinking enough water also helps you to digest the meal you had and absorb the nutrition which keeps your muscles hydrated and energized. If your body is not enough hydrated, the body starts becoming weaker which in turn affect your performance. Even during the game, water should be consumed at regular intervals, ideally in between every hole.
It is important to keep your body moving and stretching your joints during the game even if you did the stretches during warm up exercises before the start of the game. Continuously playing leads to tightening of muscles and hence many golfers after playing for sometime start having back pains and joint pains. These can easily be avoided by stretching the joints and relaxing the muscles in between the game. You will yourself notice a huge relief quickly and can keep performing to your full potential even after long hours of play.
Last but not the least; you should keep yourself loaded with snacks which can be eaten after every couple of holes. It doesnt have to be a heavy meal but just some fruits and bars so that you can maintain the energy in your body. I have seen that the performance of many golfers deteriorate as the game progresses. The main reason is the loss of energy, so keep it balanced and keep feeding your body with the necessary energy.
