Basic Guide Towards Hair Types

Generally, there are five different types of hair that will decide what hairstyles you can choose and as a result, your beauty

.

Fine Hair

Having a diameter of 50 microns, about 15% of all women have fine hair. It is shine, soft, flyaway, limp, flat and lifeless. Often this hair will have a natural shine when it is healthy. Fine hair reflects light the best. Fine hair is much easier to damage than coarse or medium hair. As streaks add volume to the hair, it is a good idea for fine hair.

To gain volume and color, apply volumizing products, styling gels and mousses. Keep in mind to use a mild shampoo and a lightweight conditioner. Apply conditioners onto the lengths and ends of your hair rather than the roots. A short blunt cut is ideal for creating the illusion of more hair. Avoid layers and long hair.

Medium Hair Type

The majority people have medium hair. It has a diameter between 60-90 microns; and is not too thick or thin. Medium hair has lots of body and usually holds either a blow-dry shape or any type of hairstyle very well. When compared to other types, it has the most styling flexibility.

Medium hair is softer than coarse hair. It is more voluminous than fine hair as well as more manageable than fine hair.

Coarse Hair Type

Having a diameter of 100 microns and above, coarse hair is often dry. It is rough, wiry, heavy, wild, and strong. It needs conditioning to keep it under control. Wear it long so the weight of the hair drags it down. Layered cut looks best for this type. Avoid a blunt cut.

Thick and Thin Hair Type

The features of these two types depend on the number of hairs on head not on the thickness of each hair strand.

If cut into a short style, thick hair will give the impression of being too bushy. Get a short haircut if you hair is thin. Adding together highlights and low lights provide the illusion of thickness.
