The light is more pleasing and more flattering, but there are drawbacks too. Halogen light bulbs have short lives and can become costly to replace.

Fluorescent ones are bright, but the color is inaccurate. People say it changes the color of their skin tones.

GU10 bulbs are nice, but they're a little too big for most fixtures and this can end up looking awkward. They are, however, economical.
