Bathroom Remodeling : Choosing A Faucet

Remodeling a bathroom can be a great investment not only for the future appraisal value of your home but for your current enjoyment as well

. When it comes to remodeling all studies have shown that bathroom remodeling is one of the areas that will yield you the greatest return on your investment. The one thing to keep in mind is that the first step to a bathroom remodel, is choosing the right faucet. Before considering what color of paint you will use and what tile you will put down, you must have chosen the faucets in the bathroom.

The right faucet will make the entire bathroom remodel come together. Today there are so many choices when it comes to choosing the right faucet. And although it can be overwhelming at times and one might thing that the

faucet is insignificant think again. The right faucet really does set the tone for the entire bathroom remodel. Let's consider what choices we have available, from the very basic stainless steel faucet to chrome faucets, brass faucets, and brushed nickel faucets. It is a good idea to compare all of the pros and cons to each one of these choices.

Stainless steel faucets are very durable and long lasting. A stainless steel faucet does not need ascleaning and won't tarnish. A chrome faucet are very moderately priced and do not rust, they are also very difficult to scratch or scrape. A chrome faucet might be a good idea if your bathroom remodel will be in a more romantic style as opposed to a modern contemporary style in which the other options might be a better fit.

Another option you might consider is brass. Brass is priced a bit higher and can rust if not sealed properly but it can add great style to a bathroom. Although the options available might be limited it will make your bathroom stand out. Of course another option is brushed nickel. Brushed nickel is the most expensive option but it has some great advantages as it does not show fingerprints, scratches or water spots. And for those of us who have had our share of frustation with a clean faucet which looks dirty because of fingerprints this can be a great choice. Brushed nickel will cost more upfront but think of all of the time and frustration you will save by having your faucet look cleaner longer. So once you have decided on your new faucet, you are ready to start your bathroom remodeling project.
