Bc Steel Buildings - Building Codes Info You Need To Know
Do pre engineered steel buildings conform to local buildings codes
?
Yes. Pre engineered steel buildings are designed and engineered to meet building codes in any part of Canada. Just make sure your blueprints are stamped approved by a certified engineer and your building has all the required permits. Some aspects that are considered and checked are wind load and snow load requirements.
In Canada a certified builder has their buildings designed and stamped approved by an engineer according to your local building codes under the National Building Code of Canada. To find out more detailed information and get any documentation you are seeking go to their website or give them a call.

In order to avoid unnecessary delays, inspection rejections and payment of re-inspection fees, please follow these tips:
1) Make sure all work to be inspected is completed and ready for inspection.
2) Have approved construction drawings and your inspection card available on site for all inspections.
3) Make sure the inspector is able to obtain reasonable access to the building for inspection. If the building is occupied, please ensure someone is on the premises at the time of the inspection.
4) Ensure construction work does not proceed beyond the stages indicated for each inspection without prior written approval from the building inspector.
5) Occupancy of the building does not occur prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy or a Conditional Certificate of Occupancy.
This information should get you well on your way to what you need to know and look out for to ensure your building meets code and that you have the right person working on your pre engineered steel building. Don't be afraid to ask to see engineers certifications and previous work to get to know them better.
Also keep in mind that rural areas are generally not as strict as metropolitan cities with some codes and restrictions. I myself have found this out when moving from a city to much smaller rural community and discovering wiring and other services that were not held to the same high standards as other areas. For the sake of your own piece of mind, I would advise you to speak with building inspectors and agencies of best practices from a large metropolitan city and go according to their standards. The more research and questions you ask the better. Its better to over-build than under-build your steel building.
