Be A Counselor In A Summer Camp And Go Through An Amazing Vacation
If your idea of a fun summer is working with kids then it may be a good idea to look at the possibility of a summer camp job
. You can earn a little extra cash and bring joy to all the kids that you will interact with in your new role.
Many of the summer camps would prefer it if you had previous experience of counseling kids. You will also be looked on favorably if you have had any previous experience of other summer camps too.
There are however jobs at these camps providing you are 18 or over. You must either have a work visa or be a U.S. citizen. But some of the camps have in the past used foreign exchange students to help out.
The role of camp counselors is not to be taken lightly. You will inevitably be a role model to the students and should be on hand in case they have any issues or problems. You will also be required to help motivate them when learning new skills. There may be times when some of the camps students need extra care such as help with their feeding or other such things.
You may like to become a facilitator if you are more of an outgoing type of person. These facilitators will teach the kids all about the pursuits that they can do outdoors. You may also be required for teaching the craft workshops too.
There are may other types of vacancies that the summer camps are trying to fill such as Nurses, program leaders, teachers, support staff and many more besides.
All it takes is a little patience on your behalf and the conviction of looking after the children the best that you can.
The rate of pay for counselors and facilitators at the summer camps are generally in the region of $200 each week. This is after you get your fee lodgings and free meals so it can be quite nice to earn a little extra for doing something that you enjoy.
