Be Proactive When Selling A Home
There's no doubt that things have to change when you want to sell a house quickly
. The action plan, first the planning and then the action has to get put into place right away, especially in this tough real estate market. These days anyone who wants to buy a home has many, many choices. Seems like there's a home on every corner for sale, and in some cases there are one or two others in between for sale as well. This whole marketplace reminds me of a high school dance where everybody is just desperate to get out on the dance floor, but only the lucky few are out there dancing. Most of us are rather shy when it comes to promoting ourselves, and that can keep us sitting on the sidelines in many ways.
So, what can you do when you want to sell a home quickly and you look around at all your competition? If you're thinking you have to set yourself apart from the crowd, you're right. Basically, you have to do what it takes to get noticed, just like those teenagers at the high school dance. They have to find the courage and the enthusiasm to just go out there and dance, and not wait around for other people.
Maybe that sound s too bold and forthright for your personal liking, but these days a person has to be proactive to land a job, and a seller has to be proactive to sell a home quickly. It's simply the way of the world. Real estate agents are familiar with what needs to be done to sell a home of course, but sometimes listing your home on the MLS isn't enough. Sometimes it takes some extra effort and additional activities to get it noticed and sold.
I'm suggesting you sit down and have a chat with your real estate agent if you're listing your home on the MLS, and if not, sit down and have a chat with yourself! Make a list of the marketing activities that need to be done, and actually schedule them. If you're working in conjunction with your agent, prioritize what's most important to you (postcard mailings, flyer distributions, online classified ads) and what's practical for you to accomplish on your own. He or she will appreciate your enthusiastic participation in the marketing process when you want to sell a home quickly. And, if not, then you will know that you need to find a different agent. It's your home and it should be your action plan.
