Be Sure You Know Spanish Numbers

When learning another language, like Spanish, there are some things one should probably learn first

, like Spanish numbers. Knowing to count from one to twenty, at least, should enable you to put together sentences dealing with amounts, directions, and the time of day.

There are other parts of the language that would be smart to learn first, as well. Certain sentences and questions that are used frequently would be wise to know, so that you would not need to look them up for simple conversation. Such sentences might be, "I need a doctor", or "Where is the bathroom?". "Thank you" and "please" will also come in handy several times per day.

"Donde esta el bano" means "where is the bathroom?". Just knowing the first two words will help you remember how to ask where other things are, and you will just replace "el bano" with whatever you are looking for. When asking directions such as this, you must be prepared to understand the answer. So, you will need to learn the words, "left", "right", "up", "down", and "down the hall", among other phrases. This way you will know where to go when you get the answer.

Knowing how to ask about the time of day is also important. You may want to know at what time a show starts, or what time the bus comes. Then you will need to know how to tell time in Spanish in order to understand the answer.

You may ask how old someone is, which usually translates into English as "ow many years have you?". You will know what the answer is, if you know your numbers in Spanish. You will also need to know the numbers at the market when asking for an amount of mangoes or bananas to purchase. And know how to translate how much something costs, also.

Knowing the words for the Spanish numbers will make your conversation with Spanish-speaking people easier. And it will make your visit to their countries easier for yourself, as well.
