Beat The Collection Deadlines: Getting Your Parcels Shipped Quickly

The Royal Mail in the UK has recently extended its parcel collection times to 8pm

in the evening to allow customers a wider window of opportunity when it comes to collecting parcels that have arrived for you whilst you have been in work. The change has been made to a number of popular collection hubs in response to many people complaining that larger parcels have not been delivered and is unable to pick the parcels up.

This often ends up with the parcel being held for around a week then returned to sender which can add considerable time to the delivery process. The new move has helped to make the Royal Mail more convenient and shows good initiative as many people now shop online and will require these collection services to be available to them.

There are many deadlines such as this that we need to be aware of when it comes to sending a parcel with the most well known ones being the deadline for sending parcels via special delivery and other services, these apply to all parcel delivery services whether this is the Royal Mail or any couriers that you may use. There are some services such as same day or next day deliveries that require you to place your order by.

Many same day and next day deliveries will need you to get your parcels in before midday or 15:00 at the latest in order for the delivery to go ahead according to your desired timeframe. There are some services that can accept parcels later in the day and still manage next day services but leaving it until last minute when it comes to parcel delivery can leave little room for manoeuvre and any slight delays could mean your parcel gets delayed and delivered late. When you factor in that some business deliveries need to arrive by a certain date and time you will want to ensure all deliveries go through smoothly and so making sure you get your parcels to the post office or courier depot is vital.

With couriers you have another option though as they are able to collect your parcel from you to save the time and effort youd normally have to take when sending a parcel which often meant taking time off work or using up your lunch break waiting in line at the post office. Couriers can come to your home or place of work to collect your parcel from you and get the ball rolling with your parcel delivery.

If you need to send your parcels quickly or need them to arrive by a certain date then there are plenty of options available to you, just dont leave it too late as you may limit your options and cost you more money.
