Become A Beta Tester In 3 Easy Steps

Most people think it's impossible, or too challenging to make a living doing what they enjoy most

, gaming. They're completely wrong. I make a more than decent living beta testing games for developers. Essentially, I make my living playing video games. Here's how you can get on the right track to becoming a beta tester in 3 easy steps.

Step One: Present Yourself

There's more to becoming a beta tester than just looking for jobs in the classified ads section of your local newspaper. Developers want beta testers who really want the job. You need to directly contact developers and tell them about yourself, why they should choose you to be a beta tester, and what expertise you have gaming.

The most important thing in getting any job is to make a good first impression; the same applies for beta testing. Make sure the developers understand that gaming is a major part of your life and how much experience you have playing games.

Step Two: Your First Assignment

The more consoles or the better quality PC you own, the more you increase your chances of getting an offer for your first assignment (though it"s not necessary as long as you have at least one current generation console or an up-to-date PC). Once you get your first offer, you want to make sure you understand your assignment, this is crucial if you want other offers from developers.

While playing the game that you need to beta test, don't try to remember everything that you noticed and write it at the end. Keep clear notes and make suggestions for improvement while playing the game. It's not all work though, you can have as much fun as you want, just make sure you don't get side tracked from what you really need to do.

Step Three: Keep Beta Testing!

The first paycheck you receive will always be the most memorable one. Don't get too distracted telling everyone you know how you got paid to play video games, you want to be able to tell everyone that you get paid to play video games. You want more of those paychecks! Keep contacting developers, providing quality work for them, and get your paychecks. It won't take too long before you have that impressive resume that developers are looking for in a beta tester.

Developers will eventually contact you for assignments that are more important and higher paying. If you can't wait for people to ask you what you do for a living, just follow the steps above and you'll be on your way to making a great income beta testing from the comfort of your home.
