There are many jobs that a dental assistant has to perform while assisting the dentist. Though, there are numerous trainings programs and certified courses for the same. One year course is considered as certificate or a diploma. The two year course offered in the dental assistant is the associate degree and the four to six months courses are generally offered by the vocational colleges, which are not accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). The one and two year training programs are accredited by the CODA and are usually offered by the community and the junior colleges.

The jobs for the dental assistant are in plenty in number. The salaries are very much lucrative. An average salary of a dental assistant can be summed up as $32,000 a year.
