Becoming The Boss Of Your Passion And Talent

I had a recent conversation with one of my friends a few days ago that was somewhat familiar

. I asked him how his job was going and his reply was a version of "it is decent but I wish I had more time for such and such. It would be so great if I could figure out a way to make money doing such and such" Depending on who you ask, the such and such is any number of things. Painting, building, writing, reading, even exercising are just a few of them that come to mind. The frequency with which I hear this from various friends and family made me wonder more about the possibilities. Are there many business opportunities out there for people to earn income while doing what they really feel talented in and intense about, even if it is not a traditional profession? I think there is, but I am happiest when I am writing and I am writing this article so I might not be very objective in my perspective. Since I could not get it off my mind I decided to do a little research and see what opportunities and trends might be out there for the creative entrepreneur who wants to combine their passions with skill and make a little money doing it.

Those who want to be their own boss, yet still work with an already established name, can look to a myriad of multi-level product marketing companies. While I am very aware of the quintessential cosmetic independent consulting business and its success in the country, even the world perhaps, I had no idea there were so many different specialties within these businesses. Without personal involvement or experience with most of them, it is not in my expertise to tell you which ones to be wary of if you are interested in starting one of these types of businesses. However, it is pretty obvious that those who are successful at them are the people who are selling what they truly love and believe in. So that being said, here is brief look at the numerous things that you can get involved in if you have a passion for the products or services. The fashion or beauty minded of you can find more than one handbag, clothing, jewelry, and the aforementioned cosmetics geared company to begin a self-scheduled sales career. The nutrition and exercise enthusiast can find many supplement, weight loss, and organic product business that offer this type of pay structure. I have even come across some that are themed around home decor, candles, childhood products, and the classic kitchenware. Whatever your hobby or interest is, it seems there is a way to at least get a discount on some of these products while building your clientele.

Of course, some people would like a more traditional established business and may want to look to franchise opportunities that work with your passion and abilities. Again, the variety is great. There are small franchised gyms for the person who enjoys focusing on fitness as well as supplement shops. Animal enthusiasts can find supply shops and veterinary franchises or even kennel and day care specialty ones. Of course, it you love food there are any number of cuisine types of franchises looking for new owners in most areas of the nation. The builder in you might want a construction franchise or a house upkeep business if you enjoy organizing or tidying interior spaces. There are even home insurance restoration franchises for the person who wants to work in all aspects of helping home owners take care of their emergency needs. Franchises might be a good option if you want a recognizable name and help in acquiring the basics of the business such as a site, equipment, and training.

Lastly, if neither of those options fit exactly what you want to do or offer then consider the growing number of individual small business. The ideas and options are almost endless when you are putting together your own business plan and how you want your passion to be played out in the business world. Artists can see the popularity of the pottery painting shops popping up all over the country as are self-serve yogurt shops for the accountant with a penchant for sweets. Fiber enthusiasts can open a yarn shop, enamored readers might want their own used book store. The list can go on and on. It takes a little effort to plan and recognition that you might need assistance in the form of staff. There also needs to be a willingness to accept some advice from a trusted business-minded friend but almost anyone can be their own boss while pursuing more involvement with their hobby if they want to to take on the challenge.

Not everyone can be in charge all the time, but if you truly want to indulge your hobby, talent, and passions while earning income it seems that there are many ways to do so. So do not be scared of trying something new and getting what you want out of life even in the work arena!
