Beer Ban on TV
It's big enought to control those supposedly guilding our youth in the colleges, universities, and schools. It's the breweries that send our false hope, false gold, and false values and its marketed as alcohol, andbeer, and with others with thier multi-colored alcohol drinks.
It's a beer pusher's epidemic. Statistics abound to prove the mass media approaches to alcohol advertising are a proven sucess beyond expectations, but are linked to more deaths than any other factor amongour youth. The doctors who should know arenow into this case and their numbers grow. Two major medical groups and theCenter for Disease Control (CDC) confirm what parents have beer saying for years, "Alcohol/ beer adsshould come off TV". They are the American Academy of Family Physcians (AAFP), and the American Pediactric Association(APA).
The public listens to the(CDC) whenever they issue health alerts of impendingepidemics suchsalmonella, aids, and chicken pox. So, why is it an adisory is issued that the USA is at crises stages with youth car crashes and death due to alcohol-impaired drivers, and it's ignored every year.
The NCAA would not follow the lead and ban the use at college games in 2007. The findings were largely hushed, and for the most part, silenced in the natioanl media who hugelybenefit from the huge profits ofbeer and alcohol sales. "In 2009, (32%) of all deaths attributed to alcohol-impaired driverswere in the youth age group." (NHTSA). It equated to 10,825 youth alcohol-impaired auto accident deaths.Alcohol isdeadly beyond reason killing 79,000 in 2009. The alcohol advertisers argue, its legal and the conclusions are for the FCC to decide." They take the "who me," attitude as if they were not involved. But, statistics at the (CDC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) point to another conclusion: "Alcohol-impaired driving is the #1 killer of youth in America." (CDC)
The statistics point to another story of death, injury, and destruction of property . "There is a correlation between the amount of exposure to alcohol advertising and underage drinking. Parents should asssume their teens are exposed to alcohol ads, both print and television, and should make it a point to remind them about the dangers." This taken from theSeriies Named: A Cup of Health with theCDC
The family tragedies must be curbed by legislation from Congress to allow the FCC to ban it.
