? Not something mentioned often but it's worth the thought. Sure, some of us might still think "college party" or "backyard picnic" but in actuality, beer pong has come a long way. This sport came from a well-known game to a full-fledged sport. Want to brush up on your beer pong knowledge? Then you better read this!

This game has evolved into a national sport being played by all types of people. Every year in Las Vegas BPong holds the championship event which $50,000 goes to the winner of this tournament. The people who play in this tournament every year take beer pong very seriously and practice and play satellite tourneys all around the United States. So depending on how much time you want to put in to playing beer pong you can end up playing in Vegas.

Local games have prizes and cash give a ways for the winners too. On a local scale, there are bars and communities forming their own beer pong leagues and hosting tournaments as well. Many of the players at these games will use more water to play instead of beer to measure the skill level better during a game.

People who tailgate at big events, such as, football games, concerts, etc. will set up and play a game of beer pong. The game has become pretty common at these events. For some, beer pong has turned into a tradition when they go tailgating. Some even have made their own personal tables with their favorite teams, bands, or logos on them. Burgers, dogs, and beer pong, anyone!?

Beer pong is even being played on late night TV with Jimmy Fallon with such stars as Kelly Ripa, Lucy Liu, and Jessica Alba. I even watched an infomercial at Wild West deals (a website featuring the famous Don West) and the main feature item was a beer pong table. People upload their beer pong game videos all the time on you tube to show off their skills and custom made tables.

The accessories made for beer pong are huge. You can get professionally made tables that are regulation size. These tables are also portable and fold up nicely. They make special cups and balls with logos on them. You can get tee shirts and all sorts of cool stuff. Like I said before, this sport has come a long way since the basement of your house.
