Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier Reviews:
Behringer is a very well respected name when it comes to guitar amplifiers so it was no surprise to us that the Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier has received some very good reviews from people who have purchased it on sites like Amazon.com and ConsumerReports.com.
The first thing you should realize about this amp is that it is designed for practice! If you're looking for an amp that's going to keep up with a drummer/bassist etc then you should go for something a little louder. With that in mind however this looks like a great choice for those in need of a practice amp.
The majority of reviews for this amp have been very positive. People really like the sound it provides and definitely the versatility. Reviewers have stated that they use this amp for all sorts of different styles, in addition to being a practice amp.
Reviewers have commented that the build quality is also quite good. Behringer is known to touring musicians as a tough and roadworthy brand so it's nice to hear that they didn't cheap out on their budget amps!
The amp is definitely geared towards beginners and many of the reviewers have mentioned that they haven't been playing for a very long time. However this shouldn't turn you off if you've been playing for a while and are just looking for a good practice amp or something easy to lug around.
Another reviewer mentioned that while it's just ok' for heavy metal sounds he was very happy with the bluesy sound on this amp. He states that his "bluesy side" was very pleased while running pentatonic scales and other blues licks!
Another excellent point about this amp that many reviewers have mentioned is the on board effects. While it's true that digital effects are no replacement for pure analog, the effects on this amp are generally well liked by most of the reviewers and are certainly a great thing to have in a practice amp for this price.
Overall, we would recommend the Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier based on the Behringer name and the excellent product reviews that this amp has received. If you're looking for a new practice amp, check this one out!
