Being Green By Mobile Phone Recycling

Every year, tons of mobile phones are dumped in the landfill

Due to keen competition, it is not possible to request mobile phone companies such as Samsung, Apple, HTC to slower their development of new technology. However, everyone knows the consequences of e-waste. It will affect human lives finally in terms of toxic chemicals and decreasing the size of living space. Mobile phone incineration produces harmful gas. It is definitely not a good solution to solve the exponentially growth of mobile phones.

Are there any sustainable solutions to balance the development of mobile phone industry and environmental protection? In fact, we can handle e-waste disaster by controlling the initial stage and final stage for the life cycle of mobile phones. Initial stage refers to the manufacturing stage of the mobile phones. Mobile manufacturing companies need to pay attention to the materials used in producing the mobile phones. They should research for the green materials that can be easily recycled. If the materials are environmental friendly, it can then support the growth of the mobile phone industry without any problems. It is called producer responsibility.

Final stage refers to the usage of the mobile phones which is consumer responsibility. Instead of putting non-used mobile phones somewhere in your home or office, mobile phone recycling is the best way to solve the problem. Although the size of mobile phone is small, if everyone keeps one or two unused mobile phones, you can already imagine the case. In developing countries, some people may not be able to buy the latest mobile phones, but they can afford buying second hand mobile phones. Actually, it is a win-win situation. There are more people enjoying the use of mobile phones which benefits the reputation of mobile phone companies while at the same time it reduces the harm of e-waste through mobile phone recycling.

You may think you cannot help the environment so much even you recycle your old mobile phones, however many a little makes a mickle. It is a continuous process for mobile phone recycling. We contribute our effort to make a green society. It is time to take action. Mobile phone recycling is our responsibility.
