Yosemite National Park in California (USA) consistently ranks among the favorite destinations in America. This 220 years old vast park is well known for its bewildering cliffs & terrains, crystal clear streams, cascades and biological diversity. But what makes Yosemite something unique is not all these, it is the believe-it-or-not Fire Waterfall of El Capitan cliff'.

This is not a photoshoped' image but a unique spectacular phenomenon which underlines that the supreme magician is none other than our mother nature.

What seems as a fire cascade is actually the view of sunlight hitting the waterfall at a peculiar angle - an extremely rare sight that happens due to some natural phenomena (around the end of the month February).

This fantastic scenery attributes to various facts like, the formation of waterfall which is formed by the melting of ice and snow at the top of the mountain. It melts around December-January and, by the end of February there won't be much snow left to melt. Then, the fire like' feeling occurs as the Sun-rays hit the waters at a specific angle. For this, the Sun's position should be at a particular spot in the sky and, this is estimated to occur only in the month of February; that too at short hours of dusk.

Thus, if all these snow melting, waters and light happens concurrently and if the sky is also free of clouds at that time, the fortunate ones can witness (and even capture in lens) this unmatched visual treat.

To capture' this, photographers would often have to wait with much patience and persistence but the devote camera savvies have made it several times, which resulted in debates about genuine pictures and the prowess of the ultimate magician & artist the nature'. Whatever it is, nature's powers continue to amaze us time and again!
