Bersih When The Population Is Used As A Political Tool

Bersih is a nongovernmental coalition whose objectives are said to be clean and clear elections

. The coalition wants to eliminate the suspicions regarding the elections, mostly because the current government has not changed for decades already. It always had a majority in the votes over the years. The protesters go out with yellow shirts, inspired by the Yellow Revolution that took place between 1983 and 1986 in the Philippines. But people who go out fail to understand that they don't need to protest in order to ensure safe elections. Instead, it is all about the organization and a clear commission. In fact, the mass is used as a tool by the opposition to change the current government, without the population to actually understand what is going on.

Those who consider joining Bersih should clearly analyze and learn from the similar situations in the past. Take the Philippines, for instance. It took the Yellow Revolution three years to take down Ferdidand Marcos after two decades. What happened later is obvious. During Ferdinand Marcos's leadership, the country had the second most solid economy in Asia, after Japan. These days, it struggles in dirt under a government whose acts of corruption are clearly talked about all over the country.

Such things like Bersih didn't affect Asia only, but also other continents. Multiple countries in the Eastern Europe went through the same process in the 20-th century. The opposition used the population to eliminate a solid government only to ensure a better place, without the positive things to actually show up. Most of these countries have the weakest economies in Europe now, with obvious samples including Ukraine or Romania.

Any political analyst can agree with the fact that Bersih is a political tool used by the opposition. It presents itself like a nongovernmental coalition, but there are five political parties included in this amalgam of agencies. If people want to ensure safe elections, they can request a commission to inspect everything. They don't have to go out and protest. They need to think a little about the future of their children before changing a solid government with a new one. It might be a better movement, but the history presents different facts.
