Brian Eno Often considered the godfather of ambient music, or at least one of the principal innovators, Brian Eno was an art school kid who made his mark playing keyboards and synthesizers for 70s band Roxy Music. Born in Tennessee and raised in Kentucky, Eluviums music is a pretty mix of manipulated live instrumentation and Coopers classical piano training. His early releases were noted for their length and emphasis on large washes of manipulated sound but it was 2004s An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death that threw fans for a curveball when it was revealed that it would be a departure from his ambient works, being a short album of solo improvisational piano pieces by Cooper alone, that were influenced by Erik Satie. You never know what kind of album you will get from Cooper, but his quality control is never in doubt. He is making some of the freshest and beautiful music of any genre.About the Author:
