Forum posting can be an easy way to get backlinks and improve your position in the search engine results pages(SERPs). You only need to post your comments and join the conversation by replying to threads and get your one way links.
As you might already know, search engine optimization revolves around backlinks and every guru and their grandmother wants to get as many as possible. Quality also matters and we therefore need to carefully choose how we build our backlinks. Remember to be a member who adds value to the community and comment if you only have to. There are forum moderators and spammy links and poor comments will be removed. You might also be banned for making user experience worse.
Restrict your links to the signature and only add relevant links. Find a category that suits you and be a useful member. For example if you do blogging, discuss that in blogging and not relationships.
Besides backlinks, this can be a steady source of traffic to your site. Especially if you choose to start threads. Starting a thread gives you a lot of exposure than all the other members. All the best in your link building.
