Popularity
Glocks are very popular in the United States for good reason. Some of the common ones that you will always see at the range are the Glock 17 (9mm round, standard size), the Glock 23 (.40 S&W, compact size), and the Glock 22 (.40 S&W, standard size). One of the biggest things that put the Glock 22 above the others is that it is America's best-selling police gun, and the preferred gun by many government agencies and law enforcement personnel. The 40 cal rounds have plenty of stopping power while keeping a small size, and the gun just feels good to shoot. Police also love the 16 round capacity that the standard magazine provides. It is one of the most popular handguns in America for a reason.
Size
Glocks come in standard, compact, sub compact and sub compact slimline sizes. We've chosen the standard sized Glock 22 as the best one out of those. Many people who consider the 40 cal round are torn between the Glock 22 and the Glock 23 (compact size). I personally own the Glock 23 and couldn't be happier with it. We have chosen the Glock 23 and its larger size to absorb the snappy recoil of the.40 cal round a little more than the Glock 23, and make it a little easier to shoot repeatedly or for long periods of time. The gun feels very comfortable in your hand, and is a good all around weight.
Ammo or Round
This section was more of a debate of handgun calibers than the Glocks themselves. The final three calibers were the 9mm (Glock 17),.40 S&W (Glock 22) and the.45 Auto (Glock 21). The.40 cal was chosen because it is a great compromise between size and power. The Glock 17 (9mm) is probably a more popular gun than the Glock 22, but the 9mm round is a little too small in my opinion. Police and law enforcement personnel largely agree with that also, which is why they switched to the.40 S&W from the 9mm because of its extra stopping power. The Glock 21 and its.45 ACP round makes for a BIG gun. While having a big gun and a big round is not a bad thing (I've named the.45 Auto the best all around Handgun Round), the capacity and comfort of shooting made the Glock 22 and the 40 cal round the top. The.40 S&W round is a great all around, general-purpose cartridge, and when combined with the Glock 22, is one of the best combinations around.

Overall, Glock handguns are absolutely fantastic weapons. Their simple design and limited moving parts make them extremely reliable, rugged, easy to break down, and simple to clean. I've heard of people not cleaning or maintaining their Glocks what so ever, an even after thousands of rounds, the gun still functions and performs wonderfully. While some people don't like the modern and blocky looks, they are still some of the best functioning guns available. We've decided that the best gun in the handgun line is the Glock 22. It's a fantastic all around gun, has great capacity, a powerful yet small round, and is very popular all over the country and the world.
