Halloween is one of those events during the year that allows for the mind's creativity to run in over-drive

. Between the parties and trick or treating, you've not only got to pick the best Halloween costume ideas for 2010, but for your kids AND the kid in you!

But with so many costumes, wigs, masks and makeup available, what should you pick?

First let's take a look at the kids. The best type of costume for your toddler will most likely not be the best option for your teenager. Or even your tween. So you have to think who are they dressing for, themselves, others or you. When it comes to young toddlers and infants, it is probably a good bet that you are dressing them to appease your own sense of cuteness. But at the same time, you want them to be the best-dressed baby on the block!

The youngest of children will be best suited for costumes ranging from toy story characters. Bunny costumes are by far the best option for infants and toddlers with colors ranging from pink to white. Full body outfits that include ears and tail are just adorable on this young age group.

However, tweens and teens might like to go for some of the toy story characters that include Jessie or Buzz Light Year. Most likely, the teens and adults will see that the Flapper and Gangster costumes are so fantastic. And they range in quaint for the teens to sexy for the adults.

Of all the costumes available, costumes with their variety in styles will be sure to please any teen girl or woman. Especially as she makes an appearance at the party this Halloween. She will make quite an entrance as she struts into a crowd with her 20s era costume, complete with fringed skirt, beads and long-line cigarette (fake of course).

And for couples, utilizing the tone of freedom-for-women age, a flapper costumed woman accompanied by a gangster partner fully outfitted would make a very flamboyant pair as they strut confidently, if not arrogantly, into a room. It was certainly a scandalous period when women asserted their independence in style and attitude.

To be seen in public with bare arms and legs, partying and dancing amongst the men so daringly, was quite a feat. The flapper outfit is by far one of the best Halloween costume ideas for 2010!
