Best Places to Eat in San Francisco with Toddlers

Eating out with a toddler is no small matter, for sure. They're busy and want to be moving, and they're probably picky eaters at this stage. Luckily, San Francisco has several toddler friendly restaurants, some of which are really in unexpected places. If you need to eat out when you're on the go or just want to enjoy a family day on the town, check out these restaurants. According to reviews, they're the best places to eat in San Francisco when you're toting toddlers along!

Nick's Crispy Tacos

This one won't seem like a kid friendly restaurant at all, but it actually can be great. One stay at home dad says his kid loves watching the sparkly disco ball and all the other crazy and interesting decorations in the velvet-carpeted Mexican-American restaurant. The music is a little loud, but it's definitely fun for toddlers to dance along while they're waiting for the meal. This same dad suggests parents take their strollers in to this restaurant since they don't have many high chairs for the little ones!

Nick's serves some of the best tacos in San Francisco, arguably. The menu is affordable, and there are plenty of things on it that kids love, including quesadillas and beef tacos. It's definitely a good option if you're in the mood for Mexican and want your kids to be distracted by lots of pretty things while you're eating!

Taylor's Refresher

This is a great restaurant for toddlers because it has lots of outdoor seating, and you can even get a meal to go. Plus, the restaurant features lots of fried foods. They're not the best option for everyday dining, of course, but toddlers sure do love them, and they're fun for an occasional treat! Taylor's also has some great milkshakes for dessert, which are great to take on the go, as well.

One of the fun things about this restaurant is that it has so much variety. You can get a traditional burger and fries with a Coke, or you can get an upscale sandwich or specialty burger with a delicious glass of wine. This makes it great for the whole family, since everyone can get exactly what they want. The restaurant has several locations through San Francisco, and they do tend to be busy around lunch and dinner time. If you're planning on an early or late lunch or an early dinner, you may be able to slide right in and get your meal.

Bucca di Beppo

This chain restaurant is all over the US by now, but it was nonetheless voted one of the best kid friendly restaurants in San Francisco in 2010. The restaurant features family-style meals, which can be a fun experience for a change. Basically, you order large portions of different dishes, and everyone can share what they want. Typically, you can feed adults for around $30 each, but there's so much food that kids will essentially eat free. They can just munch on the extras, and they'll be happy.

Like Nick's, one of the reasons that Bucca is so popular for younger kids is that it's visually interesting. There are literally paintings, photos, and memorabilia all over the walls, and it's interesting for kids to see all these things in one place. If they get a little restless before dinner, you can always play a quick game of I Spy!
