, do the math and find the best deals on cell phones in the US. When youre an international traveler, like a few of us are, its even more difficult. Those of us who need to travel a lot for business or family need cell plans that cover international calling plans and can be used in more than one continent without racking up huge bills or changing SIM cards. This is about as easy as getting a 600 pound octopus into a pair of panty hose.

The best cell phone for a person like me, who has family in Africa, Europe, South America, Canada and the United States and travels constantly for business is one which is flexible and reliable, inexpensive and includes international calling plans.

Unlocked phones are great for a person like me because I really love touch screen phones like the Apple iPhone or Sidekicks, but need to be able to make calls internationally, both from the US and from other contingents. A few unlocked phones can meet all of my requirements.

United States cell plans and cell phones arent like those anywhere else in the world. Carrier force customers in to long contracts and phones very rarely carry SIM cards. Customers must pay huge amounts to get a calling plan that can allow you to call any continent other than North America. Thats why I want a phone that can hold a SIM card that is easily rechargeable, prepaid and allows me to call wherever I want, whenever I want. Business cant be held back by a lousy cell phone provider.

There is only one other option: to go with a service provider that has it all and does it all everywhere I need to go. The only service provider for a frequent traveler like me is T-Mobile. T-Mobile is all over the world and has great service. Just about all jail broken or unlocked at&t phones will work well within the US and worldwide with T-Mobile as a service provider. International GSM usually works just fine as well.

If you dont want to pay the high costs of prepaid cell plans and T-Mobile isnt available in your home base area you are pretty much stuck narrowing your options down on which phones you can buy. You must have a SIM card for every country you will travel in and change it every time you go there. You will also be stuck paying for several cell phone bills in all the countries you have a SIM card for.
