Breaking up hurts and places your life on hold while you cry, have sleepless nights and search for the best way to get your ex back. There are a few things you should consider to restore your relationship, and they are outlined below.

Don't make matters worse - The best way to get your ex back is not make him or her feel that they made the right decision. If there was something that you were doing that led to the breakup, consider making a change. I'm not suggesting you change who you are or something that you really believe in but if stopping some behavior would give your relationship a better chance of surviving, then perhaps making the change now will help you get your ex back and keep him or her around once you get back together.

Give your ex some space - There is one school of thought that says "out of sight and out of mind"? There are others who believe that the best way to get your ex back and restore your relationship is to give your ex some time to miss you. So what's the right answer?

The right answer in my opinion is to strike a balance somewhere in-between, depending on your ex and how your relationship ended. The one thing I would advise against is trying to hard or not trying at all.

It's not a good idea to call your ex excessively or send email and text messages trying to get him or her to talk to you. For most folks harassing your ex is not the best way to get your ex back. In fact, it can have just the opposite effect.

It is beneficial to contact your ex for specific reasons, such as birthday, holidays, or to provide important information your ex would appreciate.

Apologize if you messed up - The best way to get your ex back is to provide them with a good reason for wanting to get back together. If for some reason you screwed up and that's the reason why you are separated you need to sincerely apologize. The apology must be heart-felt and real. Your ex shouldn't feel like you are only apologizing to get back together or the only thing you are sorry about is getting caught. It's important that your apology be given, whether you get back together or not.

I know you are probably going through one of the most difficult periods of your life. It might seem like you will never be happy or in-love again. You should know that it's really possible to get your ex back and one of the best ways is what you are doing right now. Getting ideas and help on how best to make it happen.
