Needlessly to say we enjoy our Anniversary Dinner at FUDE Inspired Cuisine & Wine Bar, known around Winnipeg as one the Best Winnipeg Restaurants. We hired a babysitter so that we could have a little one on one time. We had dinner at FUDE which is located in an amazing neighbourhood & perched on the 2nd level overlooking the awesome sight. The whole time leading up to the date night I keep in mind the most delightful Chocolate Chicken that I heard about from friends around the City.
As we are partially German and Mediterranean I wasnt sure that we were going to like the Infused & out-there food concepts promoted at FUDE but as we were going to give it a try. FUDE is one of the few Upscale Casual Fine dining establishments in Winnipeg & we figured that it would suit our attire as we were heading to the theatre near by right after. The location was busy on this Friday evening but our table was waiting for us and we were graciously greeted then seated by the hostess and promptly met our wonderful server.
Dinner began with a delightful little basket of Focaccia bread with Beet Infused Olive oil. Wow, it was really tasty! We were wanting to get more (& they would of) but we chose to leave room for the remaining courses. We began with Manitoba Fish cakes with an amazing dip. The presentation & taste were out of this world! They werent enormous and yet not too small either and were piping hot which is a accomplishment for this gentle fish. We thought that they might have been the best that we have ever had and that would be saying a lot since we last sampled the same in Portugal and Italia. For our main course we ordered the Chile Chocolate Chicken in a vibrant and creamy cayenne sauce. The chicken was moist & the sauce was awesome! They were such a great compliment, I couldnt believe it ut will definitely order it again next time we visit FUDE!
After our mains we finished the night with the signature Chocolate Bomb! UNREAL! Layers of Chocolate Mousse & Chocolate Cake layers covered in a beautiful glossy chocolate Grenache that was to die for!
We will be back to FUDE Inspired Cuisine & Wine Bar! Its no wonder they are known as Winnipegs Best Restaurant!
