Mysore Palace


Mysore palace was once the residence of Wodeyars, the royal family of Mysore. It was built in 1912 in the Indo Saracenic style. The main attractions here are the Durbar Hall the Golden Royal Elephant Throne, the Gallery and the Kalyana Mantap are the main attractions here.

Jaganmohan palace

This palace was used by the Wodeyars for residential purposes. Later it was converted to an art gallery and houses paintings that date back to the late 19th century. Paintings of the Russian Painter Svetoslav Roerich and Raja Ravi Verma of Travancore are displayed. These paintings depict the traditional style of Mysore and are unique in nature. This art gallery is not only famous for paintings but also for artifacts such as sculptures, currencies, coins, musical instruments and instruments of war.

Regional Museum of Natural History

The museum was inaugrated on 25th May 1995 and located on the banks of Karanji Lake. The museum provides shelter to various plants, animals and geology of south India. In the background chamundi hills are visible. There are various galleries in the museum that educates visitors about Mangrove forests, Western Ghats, tropical rain forests, wetlands and evolution of life.

St. Philomena's Church

St. Philomena's Church was built in 1936 in Neo-gothic style. The architecture of the church was inspired by Cologne cathedral in Germany. It has beautiful stain glass windows and lofty towers. Do not miss the illuminated site of the church in the evening.

Chamundi hills


Chamundi hills are famous for a temple which is a place of worship of goddess Chamundeshwari who slew a demon king. The temple is built on the top of the hill. There is a stairway of 1000 steps which leads to the temple. View of the city of Mysore and the Mysore palace from the top of the hill is worth the effort.
