Finding out which penny auction sites to use to get the best deals is usually pretty tough because there are so many choices out there. I've been using penny auctions for quite a bit of time to find really good products for super low prices, and I've made a killing doing it. I've even sold a couple of the products I've won online on sites like craigslist and kajiji. I decided to test out a new penny auctions site called BidCactus and see if I could find even more deals there. Here's my review:

I signed up for BidCactus online and bought the 250 bid package, just to be sure I could compete against the heavyweight bidders. It took about a week to go through all my bids, but in that time I managed to win a new playstation 3 and a brand new laptop. Pretty great considering I only spent around $150 on the bids and then the products auctioned off for $15-$40.

The delivery times weren't as great as I expected though. It took about 2 weeks before I received my products through Fedex, but I can't complain, since I bought them for a fraction of the retail price.

There's not as much competition on BidCactus as some other sites purport... I actually found it pretty easy to win auctions as there are a lot of newbies, If you're just starting out with penny auctions, then you should first start off buying a lot of bids (at least more than 200). Also, be sure to wait until the countdown timer is less than 45 seconds before starting to bid, there's no point bidding before that. Make sure you set a certain amount of bids you're willing to place on a product, and stick to it... don't get into huge bidding wars with people.

That's pretty much it. So overall, BidCactus isn't a scam, but be careful if you're new to the penny auction arena.
