Billionaire Bill Bartmann From The Top To The Bottom Now Back On Top
Bill Bartmann has been described by many as the ultimate underdog
, survivor and an amazing achiever. He has overcome personal circumstances and tragedy to once again rise to the top as an entrepenur in America. Bill was homeless at age 14, got recruited into a street gang and droped out of high school. Bartmann wanted to take control of his life so he got his GED and put himself through college and then law school.
By the request of a bank, he acquired a foreclosed oil-field pipe manufacturing plant and turned it into a million dollar a month business. That business was short lived once OPEC cut the price of oil, leaving Bill Bartmann out of business and over a million dollars in debt.
Refusing to quit, Bartmann and his wife and business partner- Kelly, convinced a bank to loan them $13,000 to create a new industry...the debt resolution business. With in three years they had repaid the entire million dollar debt he had from the failed oil field and was back on track. Over the next 13 years, they grew that company called CFS or Commerical Financial Services to house 3900 employees with revenues in excess of $1 billion and earnings of over $182 million!
At CFS they poineered many of the financial instruments still used today on Wall Street. CFS also implemented perks and benefits that were unheard of at that time for there employees, such as salaries two times the industry standard, free health care, free on-site daycare, 250% 401k matching and legendary company trips that took employees all over the world. Including destinations like the Bahamas, Las Vegas and many ocean cruises. One year they leased twenty-seven 747 jets so they could fly 6,000 employees and spouses to Disney World.
Bill Bartmann and Kathy Bartmann have individually made it to the covers of national business magazines including; Kathy on the cover of Forbes, Bill on the cover of INC., and both of them individually on the Forbes 400 wealthiest people in America list.
Everything on the up and up, tragedy struck again in 1998, when Bill's former business partner committed fraud that sent CFS into bankruptcy. Although Bill's former business partner told the prosecutors that he had acted alone without Bill Bartmann's knowledge, addmitted his guilt and was sent to prison. At the time US Attorney General, John Ashcroft, in a post-Enron business environment indicted Bill. 5 years later and 2 months worth of trial the jury acquitted Bill on all accounts. Ironically, 17 months after his acquittal and six and a half years after his company was liquidated, the Federal Bankruptcy Trustee issued his report which publicly acknowledged for the first time, "CFS was not a fraud".
The story of Bill Bartmann should inspire the un-inspired to do better and set high goals and expectations for yourself. Bill Bartmann today is a nationally recognized public speaker and training coach constantly holding seminars to help those interested to imporve their quality of life. You can read more on
