Drill two or four holes on one end of the timber then cut a concrete rebar about 20 inch long insert it to the holes. Then attach a section of tin stove about 30-inch long to the timber with nails on top and the bottom of the piping. The distance of the tin to the timber should not be more than 1-2 inches so that the squirrel can't get though it. Then dig a hole to bury the timber upright. To make it more secure, you may concrete it. You have to make sure though that there are no trees or buildings around because squirrels can jump from that area.
Another means of preventing squirrels from invading your bird feeder is by using an external cage to keep away the squirrels. Or you can install a suitable kitchen utensil over the feeder like pie pans. They make great baffles for your bird feeders or you can also buy plastic baffles and then add them to the bird feeder to make it squirrel free.
